For a higher quality of life
The more than 2,400 implemented projects as of today provide a pleasant living environment, excellent conditions for quality education and schooling, and numerous opportunities that enable and encourage the realisation of goals and dreams.
When planning new projects, we successfully combine preservation and green development: we preserve the natural features and intensely green character of Ljubljana, and at the same time we actively change areas that were not green until a long time ago.
Rog center
In execution
We are finishing the renovation of the Rog Center – the creative centre of Ljubljana.
Park of the Erased
In execution
The former courtyard of the Rog factory on Trubar Street will be converted into a new public park alongside the renovation of the Rog Centre, which, at the initiative of the proponents, Amnesty International Slovenia and the Civil Initiative of Erased Activists, has been named Park of the Erased, and a memorial will also be erected there.
Prekmurje square
Completed
At the 100th anniversary of uniting the Prekmurje region and Slovenes in Prekmurje with the Motherland, we opened the Prekmurje Square at the crossroads of Poljane and Rozman Street and the Poljane Embankment. With the Prekmurje Square we gained more quality public space for socialising and open-air events.

The renovated Cukrarna building is breathtaking and all of Ljubljana, not only the residents of the centre, are filled with pride. The comprehensive renovation of the Cukrarna Gallery was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Slovenia.

The renovated Cukrarna Palace will become the main youth centre in Ljubljana. We are collaborating with the Young Dragons Public Institute in its design and construction.
Forest learning path Golovec
Completed
Within the framework of the European project for the Management and Utilisation of Urban Forests as Natural Heritage in Danube Cities’ – URBforDAN, we prepared the Strategy for the Development of Urban Forests of Ljubljana 2020–2045 in cooperation with the Forestry Institute, with which we set guidelines for even more careful restoration and maintenance of forests. As part of the project, we also installed urban equipment on the hills of Golovec.
Park Golovec

With the construction of the Golovec Park,we have given completely new content to a degraded area by the Ljubljanica river.
Residential neighborhood New Center on Povšetova
Planned
Next to Povšetova ulica, we plan to build a new residential neighbourhood with 361 rental housing units, an underground garage, and transport and utility infrastructure.
Residential neighborhood Litijska-Pesarska
Planned
The need for secure and permanent apartment rental is very high in Ljubljana, which is why, in accordance with housing legislation, we are designing various measures to increase the rental stock for public rental. Since 2018, we have allocated a total of approximately 64 million euros for the construction, purchase, and renovation of housing units. In Ljubljana, we also plan to build a new residential neighbourhood with 97 rental housing units.
Muste Family Park and Public Orchard
Completed
On the banks of the Ljubljanica River, between Štepanjsko naselje and Fužine, we completed the arrangement of the right bank along the entire park area, and thus established a new public space with a walking path, benches, and a dog park.

Homeless shelter

We plan to build a new shelter for homeless.
Residential buidling Ellipse
In execution
The elliptical shape and dual character of the new residential building is the answer to the spatial characteristics of the location on which the building is positioned. It is a very heterogeneous location at inner city ring. The volume of the building tangentially touches the space at the ring and spreads towards green surface inside the building area. On the north side it borders on Secondary School of Economics from the end of the 19th century, and on the south it opens towards the Grubar canal and further towards the green slopes of Golovec.

For the development of the Roška area, for the planned programs of UL ALUO, SŠOF and ŠDL, an urban planning design of a hybrid urban park is proposed, which functions both as a small educational campus and at the same time as a new urban park of the city, where: the entire area is arranged as a large park area, public accessible and in use by the wider city, sprinkled with intended programs gathered in compact volumes, like points in space.

In the urban context, this is an area of the city very close to Ljubljanica river and is still within walking distance of the centre and could become a kind of extension belt - the threshold of the centre itself.

Terraced residential buildings Devana Park II are placed as a rock shelter growing from the forest: their façade panels are grey with green elements, reflecting the shape of the hill’s layers and the ridge relief where the buildings are situated. Façade is decorated by trees which give a sense of sustainability and confirm the alliance with the forest.

Opportunities
Mixed-use neighborhood Hrušica will provide comfortable pedestrian access to stores, restaurants and other businesses, co-mingled with residential areas, reducing the need to own cars and encouraging social connections, walkability, and active transportation.

Špica Embankment Renovation
Completed
By renovating the Ljubljanica River embankments and constructing new bridges, we have additionally revitalised the Ljubljanica where it flows through the city centre.

Planned
Renovation of the Central Market in Ljubljana includes an underground parking garage and a new space design friendlier towards visitors as well as to the vendors. The renovation is aimed at improving the quality of life and work as well as ensuring higher quality of the urban space next to the Dragon Bridge and the Plečnik’s Market, while preserving the cultural heritage and everything else one of the most notable locations in Ljubljana has to offer.

In 2015, we renovated Gruber canal and made it possible to moor twelve river boats. Thus, sailing with tourist boats has also become popular.The Ljubljanica river was also revived at the port of Špica, where, among other things, we have been organising guided exercises with a charitable touch.
ljubljana.siThe energy renovation of the Kodeljevo hall
Completed / 2nd phase in planning
Kodeljevo Hall and its stadium are the perfect venues for sports and recreation, especially after having been completely renovated in 2018. In 2022, we planted new trees in Kodeljevo Park, namely in the area of the chestnut avenue on Ulica Carla Benza. With this, we re-established and completed the old castle avenue.

We plan a renovation of the existing locks and three hydroelectric power plants in the Ljubljanica river to provide for the sustainable production of electricity, while simultaneously establishing a circular waterway.
